Miguel Aranda
Miguel Aranda was born in Valencia in 1972 and spent over a decade working in corporate consulting across Europe before leaving his career in his late thirties. Following a period of personal crisis, he began traveling slowly—primarily on foot—through Spain, Portugal, and southern France.
Aranda’s writing emerged from notebooks kept during these journeys. His style is characterized by simple, precise language, recurring symbolic motifs, and dialogue that borders on parable without losing emotional realism.
Though often compared to spiritual writers, Aranda rejects labels, describing his work as “observations disguised as stories.” His novels frequently explore themes of disillusionment, attention, and the tension between control and surrender.
He lives between Lisbon and a small village in northern Portugal, where he continues to write and walk extensively.
