These Terms and Conditions govern the purchase of digital books (eBooks) from Pembrook House, a publishing imprint registered with the Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel) of The Hague, The Netherlands.

2. Scope of Service
Pembrook House publishes and distributes digital literary works in English, Spanish, and Chinese. Upon successful payment, the User is granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, lifelong licence to access the purchased eBook. This includes the right to download the provided PDF file for personal, non-commercial use.
3. Payment and Delivery
Payment is processed securely via Airwallex. Access to the digital content (PDF download) is granted immediately upon successful authorisation of the transaction. Prices are displayed in British Pounds (GBP), Euros (EUR), or US Dollars (USD) depending on the buyer's selection; where applicable, VAT is calculated based on the User's location in accordance with EU OSS (One Stop Shop) regulations.
4. Waiver of Right of Withdrawal (No Returns Policy)
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, the standard 14-day withdrawal period for digital content expires immediately once the performance has begun.
- By completing your purchase and clicking "Pay" (or equivalent), you expressly request and consent to the immediate delivery of the digital content.
- You acknowledge that by gaining immediate access to the eBook, you lose your right of withdrawal and are no longer entitled to a refund.
- Due to the nature of digital downloads and immediate access, all sales are final. No returns or refund requests will be entertained once the content has been downloaded.
5. Intellectual Property
All published works, including text, cover artwork, and supplementary materials, are the intellectual property of Pembrook House and/or their respective authors. Users may not redistribute, resell, or publicly display the content without express written permission.
6. Limitation of Liability
The eBooks are provided "as is" for personal reading and educational purposes. While we strive for quality, Pembrook House does not guarantee specific outcomes from reading the content. To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific eBook in question.
7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of The Netherlands. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court in The Hague, The Netherlands.
